• The filter comes screwed together. Tighten it by hand to check the seal. Rubber gloves can help, since the filter can be slippery even when dry.
• Rinse the filter under warm water for 60 seconds, then flip it and rinse again to flush out any carbon dust that may have loosened in transit.
• Remove your current shower head or bracket, using a wrench if needed. A cloth underneath helps protect your shower while you work.
• Clean the threads inside your shower arm and wrap with 1–2 layers of plumber's tape if needed. Skip the epoxy or putty.
• Place one screened washer in the shower arm connection, then screw the Daily Revitalize Shower Filter onto the arm.
• Place one washer in the shower head connection, then reattach your shower head or mount to the bottom of the filter and hand-tighten clockwise.
• Turn the water on slowly at first, checking for leaks as you gradually bring the pressure up.

Reduced flow after a few weeks of use usually means sediment has built up inside the cartridge. A quick backwash clears it: remove the cartridge, flip it upside down, and reinstall it into the housing. These cartridges have removable sediment guards that trap dirt and other sediment before it reaches your skin and hair. Rinse and reuse the guards several times, then replace them once they've run their course.

Reduced water flow is a sign the guards need cleaning. Unscrew the end caps on each end of the cartridge counterclockwise, then remove the guards. Rinse under high-pressure water and rub together to release trapped sediment. Some staining may remain even after cleaning — that's normal.

Not quite. TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meters measure dissolved solids, not chlorine or heavy metals, and they count minerals you actually want in your water. A chlorine tester or similar tool is a better way to check the contaminants our filters are designed to reduce.

Yes, though not every filter in the range is built for it. The Daily Essential Shower Filter (SF220) and Daily Essential+ Shower Filter (SF500) are approved for well water, so we recommend one of these two if that's your setup. The Daily Revitalize Shower Filter (SF100) and Daily Revitalize+ Shower Filter (SF400) aren't recommended for well water.
