Most of us obsess over what we put on our skin: serums, cleansers, SPF, but rarely stop to think about what we're showering in. Tap water travels through aging pipes, picking up chlorine, sediment, and trace minerals along the way, all of which land directly on your skin every single day. Your skin comes into contact with more water than any other product.
Municipal water is treated with chlorine to keep it safe to drink, and that chlorine, along with sediment and everyday impurities, reaches your skin with every shower. The Aquabliss SF500 Daily Essential+ Shower Filter is designed to reduce what your skin doesn't need, using 44% more filter media than standard shower filters for more thorough, thoughtful filtration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
The SF500 is designed for sensitive skin, and many customers with sensitivity or irritation linked to water quality use it as part of their routine. It isn't a treatment for any skin condition, and won't replace advice from a dermatologist if you have an ongoing concern, it's designed to reduce the contaminants that can make skin feel worse after a shower.
Does a shower filter actually help skin?
It's designed to. Chlorine, sediment, pharmaceuticals, THMs and organic impurities in everyday shower water reach your skin before any product you apply afterward, and the SF500 is built to reduce all of these. Many customers with sensitive skin report a difference with regular use, though everyone's skin responds differently.
Is this the same as a water softener?
No. A water softener uses ion exchange to remove the calcium and magnesium that make water "hard." A shower filter can't do that. The SF500 instead reduces chlorine, sediment, pharmaceuticals, THMs and organic impurities and odours. Many customers use a softener and a shower filter together, since each does a different job.
Does hard water make my skin worse?
Hard water itself isn't the direct cause of skin irritation. What often travels alongside it, chlorine used to treat the water, plus sediment and other impurities picked up from pipes, is what tends to affect skin. The SF500 is built to reduce chlorine and sediment specifically, and is recommended for heavy sediment conditions. It won't change your water's hardness, but the part that reaches your skin is what it targets.
How often do I need to replace the cartridge?
Every 3–6 months, depending on your water quality. A replacement cartridge (SFC500, also compatible with SFC400) is sold separately, and Subscribe + Save is available so you never have to remember.
Will it fit my shower head?
Yes. The SF500 has a universal fit for standard ½" shower arms and works with fixed, handheld, rain and combo shower heads. Installation takes under 2 minutes and needs no tools.
