FAQs About Our Shower Head Filter for Well Water
How can I backwash a shower filter?
There are videos that show how to backwash the SF100/SF220 standard shower filter models, however, with the HD SF500 model there is no need to backwash the filter, simply remove the end caps on the filter cartridge and rinse or replace the external sediment pads when the debris has accumulated. Performing a backwash will dislodge sediment and other buildup to improve the water pressure. Your AquaBliss filter cartridge can be cleared out in these six simple steps.
- Open the shower filter.
- Remove the cartridge and hold it with the mesh end facing the shower and the opposite side facing the shower arm.
- Replace the cartridge and tightly close the filter unit casing.
- Run room temperature water through the filter unit until it comes out clear.
- Open and flip once more so the mesh end is now facing the head.
- Note:The cartridge can be re-installed in either direction.
- Replace and close again. Continue use as normal.
How long does it take for a shower filter to start filtering water?
Water is filtered by the internal/external sediment pads as well as the redox media the minute you run water through the filter. Don’t forget to follow the install guide to rinse any carbon dust out that may be present before showering.
Why is the water cloudy from my shower filter?
Shower filters do not cause cloudy water. Cloudy water is usually caused by trapped air bubbles. The tiny bubbles will rise to the surface and dissipate. Filtered shower water can appear cloudy if the air is trapped in the recently installed shower filter. The built-up water pressure causes the air bubbles to form, rise to the top of the water, and dissolve, giving the water a cloudy appearance. Running water through your current shower head will release the trapped air.
Do I still need a shower filter if I have a whole house filter for well water?
Yes, you may desire to have both since AquaBliss shower filters work great alongside a whole house filter. A whole house filter, also known as a point-of-entry or PoE filtration system, purifies the entire home's water supply. On the other hand, a shower water filter purifies what comes from the specific faucet or shower pipe. Both water filtration mechanisms filter different chemicals and minerals and have different lifespans.
Do you need a showerhead filter for well water?
Yes – having suitable filtration is vital in a home that relies on a well. Despite being one of the most cost-efficient and sustainable options for drinking, wells contain a lot of other harmful contaminants.
These contaminants can not only make you sick but also affect the health of your hair, nails, and skin.
Proper filtration keeps you and your loved ones safe while using your natural resources - that's what AquaBliss is here to help you with.
